Communities to Get $300 Million to Tackle Health

Reducing racial and regional disparities will be a major focus of a $300 million initiative to be announced Thursday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The program targets 14 communities and regions around the country, including Greater Cleveland, and seeks to improve the quality of health care and to eventually provide models for national health reform. Cuyahoga County above average in diabetes management

A new initiative called Better Health Greater Cleveland has taken a first step in assessing how diabetes patients and their doctors are doing on that front. A collaboration of health-care providers and insurers is working with $1.6 million from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to improve the quality of care for people with chronic health conditions.
